THE DIRTY DEALS OVER ELRUFAI

The fear of Elrufai is the beginning of wisdom was an adage that reigned in his hey days as minister of the Federal Capital Territory.That adage is still reigning today.

From Kaduna where he lord for eight years to the Senate chamber which occupants have not forgotten his encounter with their alumni in persons of Senator Ibrahim Mantu, Jonathan Zwingina and the then President of Senate Adolfos Wabara;whom he accused of demanding 50 million naira bribe for ease of his confirmation.

Elrufai,least to say is a workerholic performer.He excells in every assignment given and his exploits and rigidity is gradually becoming his albatross in the murky Nigeria political space filled with indolence,psycopancy, corruption and so on.

A fearless fighter,his combative acumen is seen as disloyalty in a lionized political space such as ours where the president is seen like God in the gathering of gods and goddesses.To this, Tinubu's handlers are afraid he may wittingly undermine their principle when given ministerial position.

The senators in the other hand who still want the practice of "do me I do yo"maintained see him a big hindrance hence they hide under a psuedo security clearance to deny the ever rambunctious quantity surveyor turned politician the chance.

The 2027 presidential contest was the main thing in the mind of power mongers like Akpabio,Bamidele and some elements close to Tinubu whose thinking is in case the president would not recontest, the space should be for them to grab.But with Elrufai in position of authority and from the block vote-spitting North-West, the power game wouldn't go their way when the whistle is blown.

However, being a cat with nine lives as he has always been, Elrufai may likely survive the storm as rough Sea always make great sailors while emergency makes giant men.

Elrufai is gigantic in mind not in structure and we are watching as the drama episodes continue to unfold.
