Adherents of Islam were today in some parts of the country forced to avoid worship at the popular eid grounds which are mostly open field. The heavy downpour which lasted more than four hours forced the enthusiast to worship in major mosques contrary to the normal practice especially in rural and semi urban areas of Northern Nigeria. Our team found out that in most places visited in the north,most youths in their eighteens to twenties were busy eating and discussing in various rendezvous when the eid prayers were going on due to congestion and time constraints occasion by the rain fall.
