THE NAKED TRUTH ABOUT RIVERS IMBROGLIO.

Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers state is about to be enmesh in a blood bath.The cause is a personality and egocentric brush of shoulders between two allies.

Named after a port in honour of the then secretary of states for the colonies Sir Levis Harcourt by the then Governor-General of Nigeria Lord Fredrick Lugard, the city has received somany government attention and investment.It is perhaps the richest oil state in Nigeria and the second or third in internally revenue generation after Lagos and Kano.

Thus, successive governors of the state have wielded too much influence in national discourse and debate.

The ongoing hullabaloo in the state is the aftermath of a long conflict of impository and backstabbing tendency that engulfed the state under former governor Rotimi Amaechi.

Amaechi,an Ikwere man like Nyesom Wike himself was almost stripped from power by the antics of Wike backed by the then First lady and wife of former president Jonathan Dame patient Jonathan,who coincidentally is from Rivers state in the Okrika riverine axis.Sources close to the two waring elephants attributed the crisis to the then governor Amaechi insistent to demolish structures in Okrika which were built closer to river banks and were considered risky for human habitat

The people of Okrika considered it then an affront to them and their daughter as the first lady.

After somany efforts to quench the idea but met Amaechi's insistence, the first lady resolved to violence and use of power and Wike then as minister of state for education under president Jonathan became a willing tool of vilification used by the first lady against Amaechi.

He used the opportunity to perpetrate his way into government house as governor with an election that was straugh with violence of the highest proportion ever in Nigeria's chucker history.

At the end,INEC declared Wike winner of the violent married election against Honourable Dakuku Peter side the then candidate of the APC and Amaechi's jocker for the governorship bid.The election was challenged up to the supreme court but the juries ruled otherwise in their wisdom.

Wike soon consolidated in power and repeated the same act to scale through his second term bid.Again, the case went up to the supreme court and history repeated itself.

Having done that,he started strategizing how to capture the People's Democratic party to oil his political machinery for 2023 general election.He installed and uninstalled national chairmen of which Ali Modu Sheriff and Uche Secondus,his longest time protege were both victims and villains.He dragged the party two national conventions to his Port Harcourt domain first in history of the party.

Getting fully ready for the race,he projected his then Accountant General Similayi Fubara an Ijaw man to emerge governor of the state under the same atmosphere that always characterize his electoral journey.Fubara,who was hidding somewhere away from the EFCC who were investigating some missing funds got elected and assumed dutyas the state's chief executive.

Things began to fall apart for the the two political love birds when Wike secured a compensatory appointment as minister of FCT under the opposition APC led government.could it be the desire of Wike to drag he Fubara to APC the problem? The more one sees the less the understanding.

Watchers of the events said Wike was trying to be controlling resources even out of office and Fubara's refusal to yield to that is the major cause of the imbroglio.

But in a nutshell, whatever may be attributed to,Karma seems to be playing it's part with Wike passing through same route he once subjected his predecessor and benefactor Rotimi Amaechi.

And Fubara being in government for long knows that he Wike has never been loyal to those who made him and why should he be demanding absolute loyalty he never gave for once?

Fubara's excuse of Wike leaving heavy debts is laughable because he was the accountant general whose imprint was used for the act if at all there was any form of embezzlement or misappropriation.

Both Wike and Fubara are fighting the deaf man fight with nobody willing to say the truth which is resource control and dictatorship tendency.

But a man they say can never run from his shadow and how can Fubara run away from the system that produce him?

A child whose knows his mother's ugliness is bend to be a cursed child.
